Background
My journey to Software Engineering has a long, strange trip. I was born into a military family where we traveled the United States and the world, living in such places as Germany, Iceland, Las Vegas and Colorado, where I grew up.
My early career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). My experience providing emergency services showed me the power of technology to make real impact on people’s lives, from life saving medical equipment, advanced imaging and ultra-precise logistics communication. This inspired me to pursue my Master’s Degree in Software Engineering from Regis University in Denver. During this time I worked as a digital marketer at HomeAdvisor.
After receiving my Master’s Degree, I started work as a Software Engineer at Raytheon in Aurora, CO. Since then, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina where I work remotely for The Internet Truckstop, where I have made a large impact for my team and organization. As a Lead Platform Engineer, I have have the opportunity to lead and learn from incredibly smart and talented people to make fundamental changes to how our company builds and deliver, high quality products of value to our customers.
Professional Experience
The Internet Truckstop (2021 to Present) - Remote
Lead Platform Engineer
I lead a platform team that transformed Truckstop’s cloud infrastructure through automation. Under my leadership we developed tools that enabled development teams to speed up feature delivery by 60% by eliminating error-prone, human configured infrastructure into fully automated processes.
Lockheed (2021) - Colorado
DevSecOps
At Lockheed Martin, I was part of a team responsible for transforming decades old DoD compliant software into modern architecture and standards in an effort to deliver high-quality code faster. My team migrated monolithic software into containerized microservices. This resulted in faster, more reliable software.
Raytheon (2018 to 2021) - Colorado
Software Engineer
Raytheon is where I started my career as a Software Engineer. I was responsible for maintaining classified development and operational systems. I formed my foundations of my professional pursuits during this time, where I learned skills such as Ci/Cd, scripting, and infrastructure management.
